OCV CHURCH OUTREACH MINISTRIES

In Matthew 25: 31-46, Jesus commended the faithful multitude that stood before His judgment seat awaiting His pronouncement of their eternal destiny. Jesus told those on His right, “During your ministry on earth you provided the needs of the hungry, the thirsty, the stranger, the sick, the naked, and those in prison. As you ministered to them you were actually ministering to Me”.

     Imagine that!

But to those on His left, who neglected these six areas of ministry, Jesus pronounced the consequence of eternal damnation. The Church cannot neglect these ministries and please the Lord.

If your church is not involved in these ministries, talk to your pastor about it. If you aren’t supporting these ministries anywhere else, I invite you to join us with your prayers and support.

                                                                                                                                            …Pastor Don Day

Just a word about One Creek Valley Church and its outreach ministries. We are a small country church (about150 members) located in the beautiful Kiamichi Mountains of Southeastern Oklahoma. Our outreach ministries include going to jails, prisons, hospitals, nursing homes, taverns, rodeos, parades, car shows, motorcycle rallies, campouts, trail rides, foreign countries, and to other churches of all denominations. We even have a balloon release ministry. We are also thankful for the tremendous talent of our One Creek Valley Band and music ministry which travels with us.

Everywhere we go we offer Bibles free of charge. We send these Bibles to other ministries around Oklahoma and to other states as well. If you need Bibles please call or write. We have already given away over three thousand Bibles. Every cent we receive for the Bible Fund goes to purchase more Bibles (cost is about $2.55 each). We ask for your prayers as we go.

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”  Matthew 28: 18-20

The dictionary describes a posse as a group of people given authority from a higher power. We ask for your prayers as we "seek the lost for Jesus".

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save those who are lost. Luke 19:10

  • OCV Church Outreach Ministries

OCV Church has several outreach ministries. Our Pastor, Donny Day, holds regular worship services at the local county jail and a nearby prison facility. Since Pastor Day began this ministry in 1999 he has baptized over 350 people. Using a livestock watering trough, he baptizes the individuals onsite at the jail and prison facilities.

Pastor Day has also began a local tavern ministry. He and other members of the Church make regular visits to local taverns to hand out Bibles and to tell people the "Good News" about Jesus Christ.

Church members also visit local nursing homes and hospitals to minister to the sick and the elderly. A Worship service is held weekly at the local Choctaw Nation Nursing Home in Antlers each Friday morning at 10:00am. We have several singers who provide the music and then Pastor Day delivers the message. This is a rewarding ministry which brings joy and encouragement to the residents.

OCV Church also supports the Way of the Cross foreign country ministries. Members of the Church travel to Old Mexico each year in December to participate in the "Big Feed" sponsored by Way of the Cross Ministries. Last month two of our members participated in the 2007 "Big Feed" in Mexico where over 5,000 accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior. Pastor Day has traveled with Way of the Cross several times including a mission trip to Nicaragua in 2005.

For more information about our many OCV Outreach Ministries please feel free to contact us. We look forward to hearing from you and to sharing the experience of the Good Lord's work with you.

    OCV Church Newsletter

The Church newsletter ministry began in the summer of 2007 and continues to be a work in progress. This ministry will hopefully keep everyone “up to speed” with the events of the Church and the OCV Outreach Ministries. We have several members who aren’t always able to attend services along with many supporters who live a great distance away. It is our goal to keep you “In the Know” by allowing you to share in the Church news and events that the Good Lord has made possible. Please keep the newsletter in your prayers. With God’s blessing it can serve as yet another tool to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Please pray for this ministry to increase and for our mailing list to grow. If there is someone we need to send to please contact us with their mailing address. Please keep in mind that Email is a cost free way to circulate our newsletter. So, if it would be ok to email your letter, please provide us with your email address.

  • Bible and Tract Ministry

The Lord will provide!! Our Bible stock is running low. We've ordered 1000 Bibles on faith. These Bibles are given out during parades, rodeos and other upcoming events. The Bibles cost $2.55 each. Every year the Lord has supplied the needs for this ministry as the Church has given out over 3500 free Bibles since the ministry began. This year we are praying for the same provisions. If you would like to contribute to the Bible fund our address is shown below or you can contact us for more information.

OCV Church is well known for our Bible Ministry. We have a custom made New Testament which we have published with the Church name and the Lord's Posse logo on the front and back cover. The front cover is also unique with a hand drawn scene of the Church and a praying cowboy at the Cross. The artwork on the cover was drawn by a member of OCV Church. The Bibles are given out in all of our outreach ministries especially during parades and rodeos along with the many other events attended by our OCV Ministry Teams. We also provide Bibles to other Churches as well. Since we began this ministry, more than 3,000 Bibles have been given out in the last couple of years.

Along with the OCV Bibles we also distribute Bible Tracts whenever and wherever we get the chance. We keep a supply of custom made tracts in our foyer area at Church for anyone who wants to take them and hand them out. Our youth are encouraged to use these tracts to share the Gospel with others. On Halloween our youth takes this opportunity to pass out hundreds of tracts to the 'trick or treating children" in the community. We also have helium balloon releases at different events throughout the year. Usually about 200 balloons are released each event. Every balloon will be tied to a Bible Tract. We have recipients from as far as Maryland who have received a balloon and tract and thencontacted us for a
     One Creek Valley Bible.

If you or anyone you know would like a One Creek Valley Church Bible please call or write to us.

  • Cowboy Church and Play Day Events

One Creek Valley Church is host to a monthly playday and worship service held at the local Bruce Hammons Arena in Finley, Oklahoma. Cowboys and cowgirls from the area are eager to participate each season which is held from April through October. There are four timed events each play day: Barrels(Clover Leaf Pattern), Poles, Two-Bucket Flag, and Straight  Barrels. The cost for each event is usually $1.00 per event. There are six age groups: Ages 0-4, Ages 5-9, Ages 10-14, Ages 15-18, Ages 19-39, and Ages 40 & Over. Participants compete for the best time in each event with certificates awarded up to 6th place in each category. Competitors are also given points for each event which accumulate throughout the season. • One Creek Valley Church Band and Singers

The Good Lord has blessed OCV Church with an abundance of talent. We have a group of singers and musicians who have been blessed with the wonderful gifts of  music and song. With a Southern Gospel flavor the band is always eager to participate in the many ministry events that OCV Church sponsors. The band members have a passion for the Lord's music and they are always

on cue. Whether it be at our regular worship services at the Church, the annual Medicine Springs Revival, the monthly cowboy church and play days, area homecoming parades, our local gospel singings or
just at a members house for a couple of hours, the band stays busy. If you haven't had the opportunity to experience a praise and worship service with the OCV Church Band you are missing out. We always enjoy having others play along with the band. If you would like to sit in and play some good time Gospel music we invite you to share in this wonderful ministry with us. Please contact us for more information.

  • Medicine Springs Revival

During Memorial Weekend each year OCV Church holds an annual revival at the historic Medicine Springs about 20 miles northeast of Antlers near Cloudy Mountain. This natural spring that flows year round has become the “watering hole” each year when horsemen from all around gather to celebrate Memorial Day with camping, trail rides, racing and a rodeo. People have long sought the spring water to heal the body. What better place to spread the news of the living water of Jesus? It’s a sure cure for the soul! The Church sets up shop right in the center of it all with three nights of  hand clappin, belly fillin, heart healin good time cleansing of the soul!! The OCV Church Band leads the praise and worship service then Pastor Donny Day delivers the good word.
Each night as the Gospel sounds through the trees the message is heard by all the campers and horsemen alike. Some of the passersby stop to attend the services.  Bibles and Tracts are given out and the "portable baptistery" (a livestock watering trough) is on hand should the Good Lord place a decision of baptism on anyone's heart.  There is good food and fellowship each evening of the revival with a homemade ice cream contest held the last day. Everyone goes home with a full tummy and a happy heart. A good time reviving of the spirit is had by all. So, be sure to mark your calendars for the  Medicine Springs Revival annualy each Wednesday through Saturday before Memorial Day.

If you would like more information or would like to be a part of the Medicine Springs Revival please contact us. We look forward to hearing from you.

Send us your testimonies, ideas, prayers, songs, poems, pictures, or whatever you'd like to say. Visit our Testimony Central page today and see what your fellow Christians have to say!!!!

I can do all things in Christ who strengthens me. Phillipians 4:13  At One Creek Valley Church we strive to “broaden the arena” of God’s Ministry. We frequently minister to the lost by going to areas such as jails, prisons, taverns, parades, rodeo arenas, and such. We believe in taking back what Satan has stolen. Many times I’ve heard people say, “ I never thought God would find me here.” The streets and taverns are full of people who used to attend church and those that never have. We ask for your prayers as we “seek the lost for Jesus”.    “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10

                                                                                                    …Pastor Donny Day
